A few weeks ago I got a  call from a family member who wanted to buy a home. She wasn’t super comfortable with the inspection process and the results that followed. She was confident her agent had done an excellent job in the process. However, she was worried if she canceled the contract, her agent would get mad.

I explained to her that this is part of our job, and I was sure the agent would understand. I thought about this a lot this week and thought it would be good to share with you some essential insider details.

  1. Complete a buyer consultation with your agent. You are about a make a big purchase, make sure you like the agent you are hiring to help you with the process. Looking at homes is the easy part, the real work starts when you go under contract. You need to make sure you like who you are working with in the process.
  2. Be sure to hire a professional & experienced agent. It’s important to make sure you work with someone who can give you the best advice and guide you through the process when you have questions and concerns.
